Basic Hardware
This will list the basic hardware that is infront of you so you can more fully understand the concepts in the learning process.
1. Monitor – You are viewing this now, this display the information from your computer.
2. Mouse – This little device is held in the palm of your hand and lets you control the point on the the screen. There are mice with optical and manual rolling ball in them. There are a few points that should be covered.
– Single Click / the left mouse button. (Selects)
– Double Click / the left mouse button. (Opens/Executes)
– Right Click / the right mouse button. (Provides additional options)
- Scroll / the wheel atop lets you scroll when available.
3. Keyboard – The device that lets you input characters and numerics into the computer. There are many shortcuts that are available, please take a look at the SwiftLife SwiftKeys
4. Tower – This is the larger part of the computer where everything is stored internally. Most common uses are…
– Power Button (Press and Release to Start)
– CD – ROM drive (Use this when you have music or data to load into the computer)
5. Printer – Used to print hard copies of the information at hand.
