The Desktop

After turning on your computer, you will arrive to your desktop.

This desktop is the open area where you may manage/manipulate/view/move/write information. The desktop is where all of this and more takes place.

On the bottom right of the desktop, you will see a clock. This is the current time on the system. This is also called the system tray. The reason this is called the system tray is everything to the left of the clock, are running programs on your computer.

This horizontal bar on the bottom of the desktop is referred to as the “toolbar”.

Moving left, more in the middle of the bar, is where your program tabs are displayed. This lets you switch back and forth between multiple projects.

The very left of the toolbar is named the Start Menu.
This is where you have access to your entire computer by using a “single click”.
